First Loves

Edie's Love Language is Touch. Nothing makes this kid happier than sitting in your lap, holding her or being very near her.  And when she loves you, you very very much know it!

Aside from the love of close family and friends, it has become increasingly evident just in the last few months that Edie has her first crushes.

The first one was none other than Mr. Brant Lee Croucher.  As a musicians daughter, this really comes as no surprise. He comes to our house pretty often, he plays a guitar, he sings, and he's nice to her.  Whats not to like?!

Sure she's been excited to see visitors and been sheepish around boys before, but the head-tilted, deep-breathed sigh is definitely a new one.  She even asks to see his truck when he's over. She can pick out his songs from the first few chords and always taps along. Soo sweet!

But don't worry Lainey, as young love comes, it goes very fast!

A few days ago we found out about her new boy friend (that is - a friend that happens to be a young male ;).

These came home from school with Edie one night this week.  They are from Cash. "Cashy" as Edie calls him.

Her teacher tells me that when they put her hair up in pony-tails, Edie will ask Cash if he likes them. He always says yes. Then she pushes him. Not a sweet, flirty push - more of a shove really.

We've been told that when Edie is not at school, Cash kicks chairs.
What is it about young love that makes kids so intensely violent?!

This morning as Rob was on his way out the door to take the girls to school, Edie caught a glimpse of the flowers.  As the alarm beeped its set warning, Edie dashed back into the house and came out seconds later with a picture in her hand. She wanted to take one of her school pictures to school for Cashy.

Cash and his family just happened to get to school at the same time as the Girls this morning and Edie was beside herself with excitement. She wouldn't step foot inside the door with out Cash.  When he got to the door, Edie gave him a big hug along with the picture. Cash beamed. He had his Daddy put Edie's picture in the car for safe keeping.

"Those two are fit to be tied" their teacher says.
